Adoption Requirements

All potential adopters will be required to fill out a questionnaire. If you're chosen to adopt a joey you will then be required to sign an adoption contract and have it notarized before getting your joey. I know it may sound like a bit much, but our babies' safety and well-being is first and foremost.

Deposits

In order for us to hold a joey, a 25%(for joeys UNDER $500) or 10%(for joeys OVER $500) deposit must be paid within 14 days of being approved to adopt a joey. If they are not paid within 14 days then your joey will not be reserved and will be available to be adopted by someone else. Deposits can be paid via PayPal, money order, or cashier's check and are non-refundable.

Payment Methods

Joeys must be paid in full by the time they are 10 weeks old(unless prior arrangements have been made). If you would like to set up payment arrangements for a joey, feel free to contact us. However, if joeys will be staying past 14 weeks of age, a weekly fee of $10 *might* be charged. Joeys can not be picked up until their adoption fee has been paid in full(unless other arrangements have been made).

Pet-only Adoptions

For males under $500, there is a $75 neuter fee. The neuter costs are included with any male that costs $500 or more. Males will be neutered no sooner then 8 weeks OOP and must weight a minimum of 50g, so there's a chance that you might end up having to wait a little longer to pick up your boy. All pet-only males will be neutered before being adopted out. Females are available as pet-only as well, but restrictions apply and a reference from another breeder may be required.

Getting Your Joey

All joeys are sent home with a pouch, a starter kit for the Ensure Diet, and their paperwork(birth certificate, lineage, vet records, etc...).

Joeys do not go home until they are 10 weeks Out-Of-Pouch. If being flown or neutered, joeys might have to stay a little longer. Pick-up is our preferred method of getting joeys to their new home. We are, however, more then happy to meet you partway to bring you your joey. Depending on the distance, you might be required to pay a small gas fee. We are willing to fly joeys, but pick-up in person is always preferred. Any shipping costs are an additional cost, unless otherwise stated. Shipping is free for any joey over $1,000 that is paid in full before being shipped.

Health Guarantee

All of our joeys have a full vet exam and fecal check before going home to ensure that they are healthy. In addition, we also offer a 72-hour health guarantee for all of our joeys. All joeys must be taken to the vet with the first 72 hours of being picked up. Should they be found to be ill and the vet determine that the fault lies with Just For Fuzzies, then the joey can be returned immediately for a full refund, a different joey, OR you can treat the joey and we will reimburse you for the cost of treatment(not the initial exam, since that's required for the health guarantee). Should the treatment cost more then the cost of the joey, then we will cover the treatment costs up to the cost of the joey. The rest of the cost will be the responsibility of the owner. Should you decide not to pursue the treatment, then the joey must be returned immediately so that we can get them treated.
