Lineage

Adoption Requirements

All potential adopters will be required to fill out a questionnaire. If you're chosen to adopt a joey you will then be required to sign an adoption contract and have it notarized before getting your joey. I know it may sound like a bit much, but our babies' safety and well-being is first and foremost.

Deposits

In order for us to hold a joey, a 25%(for joeys $500 or less) or 10%(for joeys over $500) deposit must be paid within 7 days of being approved to adopt a joey. If the deposit is not paid within 7 days, then your joey will no longer be reserved and will once again becaome available for adoption. Deposits can be paid via PayPal, money order, or cashier's check and are non-refundable.

As a precautionary measure, we do not accept deposits on joeys until they are at least 14 days out-of-pouch. If you are interested in adopting a joey that is under 14 days of age, we will put a hold on the joey until they are old enough to have a deposit placed on them.

Payment Methods

Joeys must be paid in full by the time they are 10 weeks old(unless prior arrangements have been made). If you would like to set up payment arrangements for a joey, feel free to contact us. However, if joeys will be staying past 14 weeks of age, a weekly fee of $10 *might* be charged. Joeys can not be picked up until their adoption fee has been paid in full(unless other arrangements have been made).

Pet-only Adoptions

Unfortunately, neuter costs are no longer included in the adoption fees. Therefore, if you're interested in adopting a pet-only male, there will be an additional fee for the neuter(contact us for details). Males will be neutered no sooner then 8 weeks OOP and must weight a minimum of 50g, so there's a chance that you might end up having to wait a little longer to pick up your boy. Females are available as pet-only as well, but restrictions apply and a reference from another breeder may be required.

Getting Your Joey

All joeys are sent home with a pouch, a starter kit for the Ensure Diet, and their paperwork(birth certificate, lineage, vet records, etc...).

Joeys do not go home until they are 10 weeks Out-Of-Pouch. If being flown or neutered, joeys might have to stay a little longer. Pick-up is our preferred method of getting joeys to their new home. We are, however, more then happy to meet you partway to bring you your joey. Depending on the distance, you might be required to pay a small gas fee. We are able to fly joeys, but pick-up in person is always preferred. Any shipping costs are in addition to adoption fees, unless otherwise stated.

Health Guarantee

All of our joeys come with a 7-day health guarantee. We do fecal checks throughout the year to ensure that our gliders are free from parasites and are in good health. All joeys should be taken to the vet with the first 3 days of being in their new home. The reason for this is because the stress of being in a new home can cause bacterial infections or other issues, which can threaten the life of your new joey and must be treated immediately. Should they be found to be ill and the vet determines that the fault lies with Just For Fuzzies, then the joey can be returned immediately for a full refund, a different joey, OR you can treat the joey and we will reimburse you for the cost of treatment(the cost of the exam and the tests that you choose to run will not be covered). Should the treatment cost more then the cost of the joey, then we will cover the treatment costs up to the cost of the joey. The rest of the cost will be the responsibility of the new owner. Should you decide not to pursue further treatment, then the joey must be returned immediately so that we can get them treated.
